Two Drown While Taking Selfie In Canoe Identified As FUTA Students

Two undergraduates of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, got drowned on the first day of July in the evening at about 2:23PM while supposedly taking selfie pictures on a canoe inside a stream in the town.

The two undergraduates who were on the 300-level, were recognized as Olabiyi Emmanuel from the Agriculture and Environmental Designing, and Olukun Babatunde Alex from the bureau of Venture Management Technology. 

The Students Union Government (SUG) leader, Comrade Olaseinde Adeyinka affirmed the episode in an announcement. 

He expressed, "With our heart loaded with torments, we declare the destruction and tragic end to the life of two of our students, OLABIYI EMMANUEL, from the office of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, 300level, and OLOKUN BABATUNDE ALEX, from the division of Project Administration Technology, 300level. 

They got drowned at the at their industrial training (I.T) site. They were at the place for their Business enterprise preparing at the research center for Fishery and Aquaculture, at the back of the mighty hall, Obakekere. 

"After the preparation, four of them decided to take a selfie on the canoe packed at the river bank; amid taking the selfie, the canoe which them four were in upset, in which they drowned inside the water.

The two of them barely got away in light of the fact that they were capable to swim, while the other two thought found it hard to swim for their life, which prompted their demise. 

"We beseech all of you to pay your last regard to our associates we lost in this catastrophe." Comrade Olaseinde Adeyinka, the Student Union Government leader added.
